Thelma Parker 1941-2010

Thelma Parker, age 69, formerly of Huron, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Armour, S.D.

Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Huron with the Rev. Kevin Channell officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visit www.kuhlerfuneralhome.com.

Thelma Thompson was born March 26, 1941, at Miller, S.D., to William and Irene (King) Thompson. She grew up on the family farm and received her education in Hand County rural schools. On December 28, 1963, she married Burton Parker at Pipestone, Minn. Following their marriage they made their home in Huron. Burton died on January 23, 2006. Following his death she made her home in Rapid City to be closer to her daughter. Thelma entered the Golden Living Center in Armour, S.D. on July 13, 2010. Some of her interests and hobbies were collecting ceramic chickens. She also enjoyed taking care of children.

Survivors include her daughter, Carla Satterlee, of Rapid City; three grandchildren, Dustyn and Danielle Adams and Chevy Satterlee; four sisters, Reva Gross of Fond Du Lac, Wis., Berniece Wahlert of Huron, Norma (Edwin) Yost of Miller, and Patti Keckler of Eagle Butte; two brothers-in-law, William Reimer and Lawrence Bonebrake; and two sisters-in-law, Esther Thompson and Geneva Spelbring.

Family members preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Burton; three sisters, Verna Reimer, Juletta Bonebrake and Bessie Reimer, three brothers, Dick Thompson, Lester Thompson and Russell Thompson; four brothers-in-law, Ted Reimer, Jack Keckler, Keith Wahlert and Art Gross; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ora and Sylvia Parker; and her sister-in-law, Diane Thompson.
